Why Drama & Negative Emotions Pull You In

Ever notice how you can meditate, do all of your self-care and positive affirmations, and be in the highest vibration possible, and then the minute you go out into the world, or into a family gathering or social event or you turn on the news, it feels like you’re instantly brought down “back to reality,” caught up again in the drama and the negativity and the anxious thoughts?

If you’re looking to stay centered in your inner peace and your own beautiful light, no matter what’s going on around you, keep reading because I’ll give you the exact steps for what to do when you feel your vibration lowering.

WARPING SPACE-TIME

To begin, let’s get a good understanding about what exactly those negative emotions and energies really are. What are they made of, and why do they feel so sticky?

What we perceive as negative energies are basically consciousness under pressure. If you’ve been following my earlier posts, you know that everything is made of energy. And you know that this energy is the pure consciousness of our Source, the Absolute, the eternal I AM presence. It’s what we’re made of and everything else as well.

And then, as Source – pure oneness – differentiates itself into separate beings and separate energies, it basically compacts itself into a denser form. That is the power of concentrated attention. There IS only consciousness, in varying degrees of density and form. And the more dense something is, you could say, the darker it appears – the farther it appears to be from its original Source light.

This density is heavy and solid. It creates mass. And what does mass do? It creates gravity. It pulls in what’s around it. This is why Einstein was talking about objects with mass warping the space-time continuum around them, creating gravity.

Imagine 4 people standing in a circle, each one holding the corner of a bedsheet. And they’re pulling the sheet taut so that it’s nice and flat. If you lay a feather on that sheet, nothing will happen. But if you throw an orange on top of the sheet, the sheet will sink down around the orange because the orange is heavy and more dense. The movement of the sheet around the orange represents gravity. Space-time or the ether is warped or bent towards the dense object, making it easier for things around it to get pulled in.

So, these negative or darker energies are denser, and they pull in other dense objects towards them with their gravity.

Now, thinking about the pull of negative thoughts and emotions, it works the same way. I had an interesting experience once when some friends and I went to hike in the mountains. We stopped at a lookout point half-way up, and decided to have a picnic there. We chatted for a while about some things that were concerning us, and they wanted to stay there a while longer, but our conversation had kind of brought down my mood and I was curious about a little trail I saw that led higher up the mountain.

So to get some time to myself, I went off alone and climbed up this narrow footpath until I came to a giant rock. I sat there and felt a very strong energy of the place, so I went into a quick meditation and asked Source for some inspiration. I was overwhelmed by a very strong sense of peace, like my head was wrapped in a thick blanket of peace. And from there, I looked back down to where my friends were still sitting, and I could see a cloud of energetic distortion around them, which I understood was their combined thought field.

At that point they were starting to look for me, and I watched as they got up and followed the same trail I had taken, kind of anxiously wondering where I was, and the cloud of worries around them followed them as they climbed the mountain. I could feel the pull of their anxious thought energy, and I felt it get stronger and stronger as they got nearer. And when they reached the rock where I was sitting, I felt my mind pulled in completely into that cloud of their anxious energy, and my own anxious thoughts returned just as they had been before.

You see, I knew what was happening and I was just observing and let myself be drawn back in. It wasn’t the end of the world… but it proved to me the gravitational pull of those negative thought forms and emotions.

RESIST THE PULL

So, when this happens to you, when you’re with other people who are in a lower-vibrational emotional and mental state, or when you’re being flooded with negative news stories from the media, what do you do? How do you resist the pull?

Well, you probably have figured out that resisting something puts all of your attention on it, and can actually make it stronger. And yet, passively letting yourself drown in the negativity won’t help you either.

So there are 2 parts to this: The first is to go into observer mode. Instead of getting pulled into the drama, take a step back mentally and try watching the events or the conflict as if you were watching a play or a movie. You know it’s not the absolute reality, it’s just a drama playing out before you, and so you can practice neutrally observing it without losing your center. If you don’t need to take immediate action, I mean, if your cat has fallen into the swimming pool by all means go rescue it. But if it’s just people complaining or arguing or news stories of negative events, try witnessing it in neutrality. Without forming judgements about it, it’s just a play of energies – consciousness under pressure.

You can choose to feel compassion for those people lost in the drama, if you wish. Or at least neutrally decide to go in the direction of what you prefer. Perhaps you’d like to leave the room or just go about your business. Perhaps you’d like to feel grateful in that moment for the roof over your head or for the sunny day outside. Just stay centered in your own deep wisdom and compassion.

And that brings us to the second point: Shine your own light super bright. And a big part of that is to do your own emotional alchemy and integration to dissolve the density in your own field, so that there is less trauma and lower vibrations in your own thoughts and emotions to be attracted or drawn into the pull of the negative energies outside of you. Only the dense and heavy bits in your field are pulled into the gravitational field of negativity outside you. The more you dissolve and alchemize your own density in the light of your awareness, like I’ve just taught you in the previous post, the less there is to get pulled into the drama, and the more of your brilliant, pure soul’s light can shine through. Your light is more powerful than everything in existence, and it has no form or density to get weighed down. It is pure formlessness, pure consciousness, pure light.

And that light is what the world needs more of. So do the healing work for yourself and for the rest of us.

Because your very existence is an infinitely valuable gift to the world.

Shine that light like you mean it.
