The REAL Reason You Fear Getting Sick

Your health anxiety is not what you think. If you’re seeing all your doctors and therapists and yet you’re still so worried about getting sick that your peace of mind and your social life are suffering as a result, you’re in the perfect position to make a profound, fundamental discovery that can change your life.

There is a spiritual, existential reason why you’re worried about your health, and it’s a lot deeper than symptoms or germs.

Today I’ll reveal the underlying energy behind most of your health worries and some surprising ways to free yourself once and for all so you can find peace, feel safe in your body, and just have a bit more fun in life.

WHAT IS IT REALLY?

My mission is to help you discover your innate superpowers of self-healing and transformation, and ultimately your true nature as a free and sovereign soul. So in this post I’d like to empower you to understand more about health anxiety from a spiritual perspective, and what you can do to find relief from your worries. This is in direct response to some of my students and clients who have asked me to address this (this is not medical or psychological advice, this is spiritual guidance) and my heart goes out to all of you who suffer with this; I see how unhappy you are.

Firstly, I need to say if you have any concerns about your health you should first get checked out by your doctor to make sure nothing’s physically wrong. Then come back to this video to work on your mindset and energy.

And now let’s look at your fear. You may think you’re afraid of catching something or that your body’s starting to fail you, but it’s deeper than that. What’s ultimately so bad about being sick? When you go all the way to the root, it’s not that you might feel pain, or become dependent on a caregiver or miss out on work deadlines or social events or family responsibilities. The worst thing that could happen if you get sick is that you could die. Let’s face it. Your constant fear of illness is really a fear of death.

Now, I told you we’d go deep. If you stick with me, you’ll open up to some profound spiritual expansion you didn’t expect. So… let’s go even further. There are two different levels of this fear of death, and they both have the same solution.

The first level of fear is a natural, instinctive fear programmed into the body for self-preservation. Of course it’s a helpful thing to have in order to cross the street safely and just generally live as long as possible, and that’s great. But see the difference: If this natural, instinctive fear is the only fear you’ve got, it doesn’t cause constant worry all the time. When you see or smell moldy food, your body instinctively rejects it because it’s afraid of getting sick and possibly dying. If you spot a snake or spider while walking, you feel fear when you see it, because you instinctively want to live. But once the threat is gone, your fear fades away and you go back to having fun and living life.

A lot of the constant worry and paranoia around getting sick and ultimately dying is cultural. It’s ultimately a form of mind-control. I won’t mince words here. Our learned fear of death can be weaponized against us. If we are all afraid of death, believing that we either cease to exist or go to some terrible place of eternal suffering, we can be controlled. When we are afraid of death, we can be enslaved. We can be forced to do things we don’t want to do when threatened with the possibility of death. We learn this fear of death and internalize it. And then it controls us.

In fact, we know that it is the fear itself that can cause physical symptoms to appear in the first place.

For sure we all have a certain amount of this fear. But if you’ve got so much that it’s causing you to fear normal everyday things and situations, you’re at a point where you’re so uncomfortable and unhappy that you’re ready to change it. And that is what will break you open to your divinity.

WHO ARE YOU REALLY?

The solution to all of this is to remember who you truly are. You are not just your body. You are much, much bigger than that. You as an infinite soul are a unique stream of source consciousness and you are immortal. Nothing can extinguish you, nothing can harm you, not even the death of the body. You need your precious body to have these wild adventures and experiences, to enjoy the rollercoaster of life and learn all those things you want to learn. Take care of your body and keep it comfortable and happy.

But free yourself from thinking that when the body goes, you disappear. Don’t take my word for it. Feel it for yourself. Be very present and feel the aliveness in the stillness between my words. Between your thoughts even. Right now. Where are the limits to your consciousness? You are conscious of the space inside your body and outside your body, am I right? Where does your awareness end? It doesn’t. There are no limits. You have no limits. Just be present with that. Feel it.

And then you can bring that awareness into your body so your body knows that you, the infinite soul, is in charge. Bring the light of your soul’s awareness into and around your body so that your body can finally feel safe. This is a life-long practice but you can start right now. Love your body and take care of it, but know that your body will carry out its lifecycle from birth to death and that is part of the laws of nature. Nothing in this life is permanent – except you. Except your infinite awareness that is present right now, and that is not separate from Source itself.

Remember those monks who spend weeks and months creating those perfect, colorful mandalas out of sand, and then right when they finish they destroy them completely? They are acknowledging the impermanence of all form and releasing their attachments. Let’s do the same. Remember the mandalas. Maybe even create your own and then destroy them to release your attachments and fears and allow yourself to flow more in the constant change and flux of life. Because death is not the end of anything. Death is simply change, as old forms are recycled into new ones in a constant flux, all made of the one thing that is truly permanent, and that is Source itself.

Because everything changes, that makes each moment precious and irreplaceable. So don’t fear change. Don’t let the fear of death control your life. Allow yourself to enjoy these precious, irreplaceable moments of life as a gift of divine grace. Remember who you truly are and shine that beautiful light of your infinite awareness into your body and your life, knowing that you are an invincible and immortal soul blessing the whole world with your human form. You are a blessing. Shine that light with bravery and courage. No matter what happens, you are held by the divine and you are divine. And that is why I always say:

Be brave, be the light that you are.

Namaste, my friend.
