THE CURE FOR LONELINESS

In these times of high technology, we’re more disconnected physically than ever before, and even when we’re with other people we can feel alone in a crowd. Especially being on a conscious spiritual path can mean we feel alone just talking to someone sitting next to us. It can become very hard to feel truly seen and understood.

Even more so, on our path we are told we should not need other people, because if we were truly healed and enlightened, we would feel at one with all things all the time.

We are told we should fill our own cup, and that we can’t receive love if we don’t love ourselves first. But self-love alone is not always enough, and I’m here to tell you: It’s ok to need other people. Why? Because our true nature is connection!

WE ARE CONNECTION

So, what if there was a way you could deeply feel in your heart connected to everyone around you, without dealing with their traumatized personalities and dense egoic structures?

Well, we are rebel souls on our mystical paths, so we know this is possible because connection is literally who we are. We know that by discovering our true nature we break through the limitations and the feeling of separation and unleash the power of our consciousness so that anything is possible.

So here’s a question for you – with all of our spiritual awareness, how do we experience connection in what seems like a disconnected world?

I remember once I was writing messages with a friend one evening and we really bonded on a deep level and she told me very sincerely that she really loved me as a true friend. When she said that, I literally felt my heart explode with love. I went to sleep that night, and then the next morning I woke up to find that 5 other people had messaged me from various places around the world, all saying that they had just had a dream about me, they were thinking about me, they missed me, they just had to write me out of the blue, despite years of not communicating.

What’s happening here? How does love appear to travel through the universe like this?

And what happens when you send a blessing or healing energy to someone? What’s really going on?

INDRA’S NET

Ok, let’s go back to the basics:

All things are created from the source field like the ocean and the wave. Waves appear to be separate, but they are also just more ocean.

Now picture an empty universe of pure possibility, just black space in the zero-point field of pure Source consciousness. The source field starts condensing its consciousness into form, just out of the desire to see itself. And when it does so, it observes reality into existence, collapsing infinite possibilities into finite particles to generate all things. Imagine these newly created forms as stars emerging from the fabric of the universe.

And now imagine that these stars – separate beings created from the void – are connected together in a spiderweb of light…

Some people teach of a golden grid, but my experience of the golden grid is not lots of squares and perpendicular lines, but rather countless thin, delicate, subtle curving threads of light, through which the light moves like electric cables. The first time I saw this in meditation it was quite spontaneous and unexpected, and I had no clue what I was seeing.

This golden web, I now understand, is what the Vedic texts call Indra’s net.

इन्द्रजाल

In Sanskrit, Indrajāla has come to signify divine magic or illusion, because the appearance of this web seems to consist of separate interconnected things, which obscures the ultimate reality of a single consciousness.

The glowing threads connect a series of sparkling diamonds or pearls, like dewdrops on a spiderweb. And each single drop reflects all the other drops within it… the whole universe.

Each of us is a jewel in this net, and we are all connected.

Everything that exists appears as a star or jewel in this web, but the more self-aware something is, the brighter its light. Animals and plants shine brighter than tables and chairs, and healed humans shine brighter than those with dense trauma and ego.

This is why we do our healing work to integrate the shadows and dense egoic structure – to let our diamond shine more Source light.

And this is how love and light move between us. This is why my 5 friends all sent me those very kind messages... my love rippled out onto the network and was reflected back.

And when you bless someone or send them healing energy, this is what’s happening. This is how Source energy can enter our bodies during prayer or healing rituals with just the power of our intention.

Experiencing Indra’s net may not be a replacement for a physical hug, but it’s pure: you are connecting to someone’s soul before that light is filtered through their trauma and ego. It can be very healing to the heart and dispel any loneliness or disconnection you might feel.
